Tundla Railway JunctionThe Tundla railway junction with the station code “TDL” is sited on the Delhi-Kanpur railway main line; it is one of the important railway junctions in Uttar Pradesh. The junction is established by the English East India Company in 1866 and it is currently owned by Indian Railways. The Tundla railway junction operates under the North Central Railway zone now and it falls under the Allahabad railway division. The station railway line comes under the section of Kanpur-Delhi railway line of Howrah to Delhi line and Howrah-Delhi-Gaya line. The station is elevated at the height of 166.878 m above sea level which is about 547.50 feet. The station has it coordinates at 27°12'28 North latitude and 78°14'01 East longitude.
The station is considered as one of the important junctions because it provides link to most of the Eastern regions of India like Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati and many more for the travellers from Agra and many other cities of Northern India. Also the junction is the technical stop for guards and for changing drivers. The station is also one of the sightseeing landmarks of the town as it is built by the British and remains unaffected till date.
The station got electrified in 1972 and has 5 platforms. The main drawback of the station is it doesn’t own parking area, bicycle facility and baggage check facility. The NH 2 enters the town at the Mohammadabad locality and it runs through Tundli locality of the town and reaches out the town. At the Tundli locality the NH 2 links itself with the UP SH 31. The NH 2 is an important national highway in Northern India which connects most of the states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand; it is of 1,465 km length. Through NH 2 Tundla town can connect itself with the national capital Delhi and State capital Lucknow apart from connecting many popular landmarks in the state like Mathura, Faridabad, Agra, Kanpur and Allahabad. The NH 2 links Tundla with its neighbouring localities like Etmadpur, Satauli, Dharera, Rahan kund, Nawalpur, Bhagupur, Dhaurra, Kuberpur, Garhijafar and many other neighbouring localities in Firozabad district.
The Uttar Pradesh State highway UP SH 31 enters the town at the Mohammadabad locality and links itself with the NH 2 at the Tundli locality of the town. This UP SH 31 connects the town with its neighbouring localities of Pratapur, Sikrari, Kotki, Alawalpur, Basai, Pachokhara, Srinagar, Imaliya and many other localities in Firozabad district. The other major roads running within the town are Railway station road, Tundli road, Masjid road, Company Bagh road and Kastoori Vihar Devi road. The Railway station road links itself with the NH 2 at Tundli locality. The town also has a bus station on the NH 2 that operates buses for local and outstation travel.
